SURGERY UPDATE

We would like to inform you that Dr Freeman has announced her retirement.

Here is a message from her.

After 29 years of working in the practice I have made the difficult decision to retire on 31st May 2023. I joined the practice on 1st February 1994 and since that time I have seen the practice expand and grow and I continue to be amazed by the many advances in medicine during my time as a GP.
When I started at the practice, we had GPs and nurses. We now have a large team of allied professionals who all have specialist skills. We still have GPs and very qualified nurses, but we also have pharmacists, physician associates, paramedics and physiotherapists all working together as a team for the benefit of our patients.
The practice has certainly got busier over the years, and we are seeing many more medical and social problems especially since the pandemic. It is a difficult time for healthcare with increasing demands on our services without the additional investment that is needed.
However, I feel positive about the future as I know we have a hard working, caring and committed team of staff. I will be leaving but I know that the practice is in good hands.
I am looking forward to my retirement and plan to do lots more exercise, travel and golf.
I have fond memories of my patients and I have learnt a lot from my patients over the years. I feel privileged to have been invited into the lives of many of you to share the good and the difficult times and hope that I have helped people along the way. I will always have a special place in my heart for the communities of Rothwell, Woodlesford, Oulton and Swillington.
